Vintage Embroidered Kantha Blanket Assorted

Entirely hand-stitched, this vintage kantha blanket is decorated with traditional Suzani embroidery.  First the vintage sari material is stitched together using row after row of kantha stitching, which gives the blanket its charcteristic wrinkled effect.  Then the already magnificent piece is further decorated with colorful Suzani style all-over embroidery.  This kind of embroidery is most popular with rural women of India who spend hour upon hour creating these one-of-a-kind pieces.
